Multi-Touch Interaction Research

While touch sensing is commonplace for single points of contact, multi-touch sensing enables a user to interact with a system with more than one finger at a time, as in chording and bi-manual operations. Such sensing devices are inherently also able to accommodate multiple users simultaneously, which is especially useful for larger interaction scenarios such as interactive walls and tabletops.

Yellow Arrow

You post a Yellow Arrow because you have something to say about where it points. your thought is then forever tagged to that place. When someone else finds your arrow and sends the code, they get back the message you left on their mobile phone.

This concept has been well thought out and documented.

Adidas | Modular Football Boot

Adidas Presents First Ever Modular Football Boot: +F50 TUNIT

Adidas proudly introduces a football footwear revolution, the +F50 TUNIT. This new football boot concept allows players to customize, adapt and tune their boots to any weather, any pitch and their very own personal style. The revolutionary +F50 TUNIT is easily constructed from three interchangeable components: the upper, the chassis and the studs. Each component comes in a variety of styles and functions. Simply by mixing and matching their components of choice, each player can easily build and tune their boots.

+F50 TUNIT Technology

• The lightweight Chassis provides reduced weight through less material usage. This chassis also features the ClimaCool® upper. This chassis weighs 75gr.

• The Comfort Chassis provides additional comfort, cushioning and shock absorption at high pressure points, such as the heel and the forefoot ball area. This chassis weighs 84gr.

• The Orthopaedic Chassis features reductions in the sock liner to allow the usage of personal orthopaedic in-socks.

• The specially developed adiHex micro fibre is thin, soft and strong. The use of this unique material allows adidas to produce a very lightweight, yet highly resistant performance boot. The end result: a stunning looking, incredible durable, very comfortable and easy to maintain football boot.

• ClimaCool® provides a 360° cooling effect for the entire foot through the adiHex/mesh upper construction and ventilation cut-outs in the outsole.

• The lace cover provides a cleaner kicking surface to reduce missed shots and passes.

• The glove-like fit of the TUNIT makes for a lighter shoe and allows a better feel for the ball.

Adidas has a new ad campaign out. The ads are a bit slow with the humor but drives the point across. They were created by TBWA/Chiat/Day San Francisco and produced by Reginald Pike.

Functional Visualizations

For many of us who have problems trying to communicate a complex thought or we want to understand many different visual ways to solve complexity this site is great. On the site there are many projects and new projects are posted often.

"Functional visualizations are more than innovative statistical analyses and computational algorithms. They must make sense to the user and require a visual language system that uses colour, shape, line, hierarchy and composition to communicate clearly and appropriately, much like the alphabetic and character-based languages used worldwide between humans."

adidas by Stella McCartney

The new line of products from adidas/ Stella McCartney are online: and also has a NEW updated website with:
a new catigory from last season: tennis
a full breakdown of the products in the line
ad/ wallpapers
story behind line

I think the designs have a good usage of color and are simple with a good balance of "fashion" and performance.

Ben Guernsey : Nike Sphere

Ben Guernsey site

http://www.benguernsey.com/

+ did the Nike promotion brochure below

brochure, leaflet, handbill, flyer...

booklet |ˈboŏklit| noun a small book consisting of a few sheets, typically with paper covers.

That is what defines a booklet by definition but through creativity there are endless solutions. A friend of mine pointed these "booklets" out to me and thought they were great examples of other ways you can make/ design a booklet other then staples in the upper left or folding a piece of paper in 3.

Jose Parla

I found his work through my quick research of the Nike-logo forms.

link: http://www.joseparla.com/

The paintings and gallery work is great. The videos add to what his site is trying to show. I am still going through the site trying to see all his work and the details/ colors/ etc he has..

Its different to see a Graffiti artist with such a corporate/ clean website

ARI : NIKE AIR

A friend from class shot this "ARI" and thought was some clever work. Matching the typeface, the orange color, the trademark, and the swoosh (swoosh is a lil lop-sided/ but its all good). I think taking something iconic as the nike logo an flipping it- will make it stand out to people. I showed the pic to some people in the shoe biz, and it even took a couple of them a second to see the difference.

- thanks for pic

From this I was inspired to do a lil search of some other forms the nike logo has been used.

Inspire :: growth

Sticker Project:
Stickers historically have been a starting point in the graffiti community. They can be created in the privacy of one’s home and put up quickly. Traditionally graffiti writers use freely available US Postal labels in combination with colored markers to create stickers of their tag.

Project requirements:
Create a sticker designed to be a part of the urban environment. Use your knowledge of existing stickers to break from the norms and traditions of what is currently adhered to newspaper boxes and sign posts. Concentrate not on stylistic or design issues, but in thinking about entirely new ways stickers can be used to communicate in public spaces. Think of what unique skills you have as artists / image makers / programmers and put them to use in the creation of your sticker. Experiment and be playful with materials, technology, production methods, and placement. In this project, as in all the projects this semester, successful pieces will creatively identify and exploit existing elements and systems in the city. Your creation should fit in rather than simply stick on.

Any materials can be used as long as the method of attachment is an adhesive sticker, including (but not limited to) postal labels, HELLO MY NAME IS stickers, and computer printable sticky back sheets. Any number or size of stickers can be used, and there is no technology requirement.

solution:
ALL can be seen in the pdf

    Inspireme Foundation

    Inspireme Foundation

    "move with inspiration in mind"

The Inspireme Foundation is a not-for-profit organization established to raise funds and is dedicated to supporting innovative programs that offer inspiration. Its goal is to promote inspiration in communities, actively promote excellence in education, and living active positive lives.

Here is a small project been working on for school. I have been thinking about taking it to the next level and making it an actual foundation. Because of my current situation with school/ familiy/ and work I am not sure I can do it. So I am now leaning towards proposing it to a Organization or Foundation and let them carry it on.

The tag-line "move with inspiration in mind" means that when you are walking/ running/ sitting whatever that you are keeping inspiration in your thoughts. That you are aware that anything around you could be inspirational. I have this saying for the foundation because through my 11 weeks of experiments/ research I have found that people are not inspired and are taking inspiration from the same sources (ex. tv, internet most common) and I feel you can take inspiration from all things around you. I think we need to change our daily patterns so we experience things in life that we normally wouldn't, because we live lives in a routine pattern.

Below are some links to the beginnings of this project.
