Clothes Maker

Hamansutra - alias Haman Alimardani - says of all the ways people label what he does, he likes the term “clothes maker” best. The Teheran-born Afro-Persian from Bavaria started off with Graffiti in Munich, worked for Advertising Agency Jung von Matt, then studied graphic design in Germany and decided, that fashion would suit him best. Receiving a scholarship for St. Martins in London he started to create his ambitious Hamansutra empire. PingMag met him in New York where he is planning to move next.

"I very much like the fact, that you have to think about what you wear, how you wear it, in what order you put on your clothes. That is almost like a ritual, a ceremony."
