when saw this over at coolhunting thought was great and wanted to spread the word.

"The International Children's Digital Library is working on a goal to provide people around the world access to a digital library of children's books that will surpass 10,000 volumes by 2008. By constructing varying interface levels for children 3 to 13, ICDL has created a reading experience that evolves with each child's individual growth and will preserve the best of children's literature for future generations."

I have already checked out two books on the site, and am excited to see it develop

'Head On' by Cai Guo-Qiang at the Deutsche Guggenheim in Berlin. The installation consists of 99 life-sized wolves, fabricated from painted sheepskins and stuffed with hay and metal wires, barreling in a continous stream towards - and into - a glass wall. Only the first ones crash into it, but the pack chases after the leader.

Inspired by the omnipresence of German history, he made his first sketches for the exhibition, after which a concept developed out of these ideas that contains references to the various media that Cai Cuo-Qiang employs as well as addresses the city in terms of content and the exhibition space itself in terms of form.

this is an exploration of daily movements and patterns of movement. It was research apart of the inspireme foundation I am working to develop. I am currently working on two more explorations and will post when finished.

I have taken some pictures closer to the canvas so that you can see the tred patterns from the rubber outsole of the shoe.

A link with some different creative ideas for advertising. The ads are from all around the world. I thought this one with the mouse pad was unique. This controversial idea was done in Dubai by Sandeep Fernandes and Husen Baba Khan for the male deodorant, Axe. "The mouse pad that every guy needs."

I found this to be very informative. There are things happening around us at speed that is not as noticeable from a day to day standpoint but in terms of the growth of the world in the future it is a rapid change occurring.

"Rapid movement of climatic zones is going to be another stress on wildlife."

Hamansutra - alias Haman Alimardani - says of all the ways people label what he does, he likes the term “clothes maker” best. The Teheran-born Afro-Persian from Bavaria started off with Graffiti in Munich, worked for Advertising Agency Jung von Matt, then studied graphic design in Germany and decided, that fashion would suit him best. Receiving a scholarship for St. Martins in London he started to create his ambitious Hamansutra empire. PingMag met him in New York where he is planning to move next.

Artists Michael Elmgreen and Ingar Dragset present their newest sculpture, entitled Prada Marfa. "The work is located on the outskirts of Valentine, Texas near Marfa on desolate ranching land with no other visible trace of civilization. As one drives toward the artwork it appears to be a large minimalist sculpture; as one gets closer it looks like a luxury boutique where a display of Fall 2005 high heel Prada shoes and bags can be seen through the store front windows. Yet, one cannot open the door, it is a sealed time capsule and will never function as a place of commerce."

Brilliant. Definitely made me smile, early in the morning.

I was wondering what shoes Steve was wearing on this trek across the usa. After some google'n I found he wears nikes. I was not too surprised. But from a couple of the shots I am not sure if he wore nikes the whole time. I emailed Steve to find out more about his journey and his thoughts on the shoes he has worn and there performance. This is a fully functional clock that is printed onto ordinary paper. Using a heat sensitive coating, the minutes and hours blur from one into the other in a very subtle, warm and organic way. The ornamented wallpaper was used to contrast the digital interactivity with our perception of traditional, static wall space. The graphic surface however could be changed to display any graphic or photographic motive.

Using the familiar language of segmented LED displays and running from a tiny chip, WATCH PAPER can be integrated into Wallpaper of any printable size. It was designed to appear only when it is needed in order to be an un-obtrusive element of the interior.

The "PixelRoller" project is a collabortive investigation into a new creative tool between Stuart Wood MA (RCA) Interaction Design and Florian Ortkrass MA (RCA) Design Products.

PixelRoller is a paint roller that paints pixels, designed as a rapid response printing tool specifically to print digital information such as imagery or text onto a great range of surfaces. The content is applied in continuous strokes by the user. PixelRoller can be seen as a handheld “printer”, based around the ergonomics of a paintroller, that lets you create the images by your own hand.
